A Successful Test Call at Trans Misr Terminal
Two months after the arrival of the Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes, Trans Misr Terminal (TMT) proudly conducted a successful test call. On November 27, the NICOLAS DELMAS, a 2,207 TEU vessel operating on CMA CGM’s ‘WEMED2’ service, made its first call at TMT, marking a significant milestone for the terminal.
About Trans Misr Terminal
Set for full launch in the first half of 2023, TMT is a groundbreaking joint venture between the Egyptian Group for Multipurpose Terminals (EGMPT) and CMA Terminals.

Terminal Capabilities and Infrastructure
TMT is designed to cater to the demands of modern shipping and logistics, spanning 57 hectares with over 2,500 meters of quay. Upon full operation, the terminal will feature:
- A design capacity of 1.50 million TEUs annually, enabling it to handle large mainline container vessels.
- Additional capacity for 2 million tons of general cargo and 100,000 RoRo units per year.
- Berth depths ranging from 14.50 meters to 17.50 meters, accommodating various vessel types.
This successful test call by CMA CGM highlights TMT’s readiness to serve as a strategic hub for both regional and international shipping. It also reinforces Egypt’s role as a key player in global trade.
