1st LNG-powered vessel
A Historic Milestone at Trans Misr Terminal (TMT)
We are proud to announce the arrival of MV CMA CGM SALAMANQUE, the first-ever LNG-powered container vessel to call at an Egyptian port, at TMT on December 19th.
Operated by CMA CGM, this state-of-the-art vessel has a capacity of 2,126 TEUs and was delivered in September 2024. Its arrival underscores TMT’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and reducing emissions, aligning with Egypt’s green strategies and CMA CGM’s dedication to innovation and environmental progress.
We were honored to welcome the vessel alongside Rear Admiral Ahmed Hawash, Chairman of Alexandria Port Authority, and Rear Admiral Mahmoud Khodeir, Chairman of TMT, highlighting the significance of this achievement for the port and the nation.
As Egypt’s leading multipurpose terminal, TMT is proud to lead the way by being the first in the country to handle LNG-powered vessels, paving the way for a greener future in maritime logistics.
Let’s keep driving change together! 🌿🚢
