A New Heavy-Lift & Breakbulk Milestone at Trans Misr Terminal (TMT)
We are proud to mark another important milestone in the development of Trans Misr Terminal (TMT)’s breakbulk and project cargo capabilities.
TMT has successfully handled its largest breakbulk shipment since commencing operations in 2023, with the discharge of six electrical transformers, each weighing 46 MT, from CMA CGM MONTE CRISTO — representing a total cargo weight of 276 MT.
Beyond the scale of the cargo, this operation demonstrates TMT’s ability to safely and efficiently manage heavy, oversized and complex project cargo, supported by careful operational planning, specialized equipment, experienced teams and close coordination across all stakeholders.
It is another strong demonstration of TMT’s capabilities as a multipurpose terminal in Alexandria Port, serving not only containerized cargo but also the growing requirements of project cargo, breakbulk and heavy-lift operations.
