TMT Strengthens Capacity with Two Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs)
Trans Misr Terminal (TMT) has successfully commenced the trial operations of the newly added Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs), bringing the terminal’s quay-side equipment fleet to four STS cranes and two MHCs, marking an important milestone in the terminal’s ongoing capacity expansion.
Since commencing commercial operations, TMT has experienced rapid growth in container volumes, reflecting increasing customer demand and strengthening the terminal’s growing role in the Egyptian and regional container market.
The two MHCs have been added to support this growth, enhance operational flexibility and strengthen TMT’s handling capabilities, as part of its ongoing investment and development strategy.
The additional equipment will support:
- Improved vessel turnaround times for our customers’ vessels calling TMT;
- Greater operational flexibility and handling capacity; and
- TMT’s continued growth as a gateway and transshipment terminal serving Egypt and the Mediterranean.
Located in Alexandria Port, Egypt’s main gateway port, TMT serves as both a key gateway for Egyptian trade and an important transshipment hub in the East Mediterranean region. TMT continues to invest in its equipment, infrastructure and capabilities to support growing customer demand and regional trade.
Another step forward in TMT’s commitment to capacity growth, operational excellence and reliable service to our customers.
